I've worked in Gulf TV drama and advertising since graduating in communications and media from the American University of Kuwait in 2019, cum laude. Most recently I was assistant director, line producer, assistant editor and VFX supervisor on Mataha, a 30-episode crime drama aired on Rotana Khaliji in 2026. Before that I coordinated direction and production on six drama series and four ads, and led product photography for an e-commerce brand.
Since 2025 I've been building with generative AI: websites and apps with Claude Code (this site included), a bilingual Arabic and English voice party game for mobile called Don't Scam, and AI images and video with Midjourney, held to the same standards of framing and light as anything I shoot.
Outside production I write fiction and poetry under the name A. D. Marei, make ceramics and plaster sculpture on commission, and design products like Motif from the ground up. I like the whole pipeline: the first deck, the shooting schedule, the edit, and the frame that ends up on screen.
Kuwait is GMT+3, so a full European working day fits inside mine, and I can shift later for US East Coast calls.
